Prior to joining ICP, Jonas was Global Co-Head of Corporate Governance at Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), the asset manager of the Government Pension Fund Global of Norway. He led the fund’s engagement with its 9,000 investee companies through monitoring, dialogue, and voting at shareholder meetings. Prior to joining NBIM, Jonas was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in New York, serving financial institutions after the global financial crisis with restructuring, M&A strategy, and product innovation.
Jonas began his career as a diplomat in the Middle East and at the UN in New York, where he secured access and support for Norway’s foreign policy goals. A retired army officer, Jonas served in NATO peacekeeping missions in Bosnia (SFOR) and Kosovo (KFOR).
He holds a PhD from the University of Oxford and a Master and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oslo.
